Pro/Engineer Prismatics
and CL Files |
|
| Our license for
Pro/Engineer Wildfire 2.0 also includes a license of
Pro/E
Prismatics which |
|
is utilized
for Multi-Surface (Pro/NC) Milling. |
After
Modeling a part, the largest outer part dimensions are
determined and CNC Machine clamping is put |
| in consideration
as it is common practice in every CNC machining facility. In
this case |
| the work piece
is created as a model part and then implemented in the
Prismatic |
| program module
and the originally modeled / contoured part is constrained
within the |
| work piece by
aligning the coordinate systems. |
After this
procedure the absolute zero point is determined which is
later during machining |
| identical to the
zero position of the CNC Machine.
|
At this point
machining sequences can be programmed under realistic on
screen conditions |
| as shown in the
illustration below. |

illustration shows a milling path
|
| as it appears on
the monitor. |
| If i.e.
a milling
tool
is
applied
to
|
| the program it
is possible to trigger |
| machine passes
which automatically |
| follow the model
part contour by |
| first leaving
stock while roughing, |
| then stepping
closer to the final |
shape. Usually a
tool change is |
| required to
achieve a surface finish |
| to project
specifications. The green |
| lines represent
the tool paths. |

Pro/E
Prismatics is not limited to milling > drilling, reaming,
threading and more procedures can be performed. |
| All sequences
follow each other without interruption since all CNC Machine
features can |
| be
pre-determined in Pro/Engineer
Prismatics >
a variety of tool path patterns, tool changes from
|
|
magazine
pockets, cooling,
spindle
speeds,
rapid
motion
(positioning),
feed rate
(linear interpolation), |
| circular
interpolation etc. |
The
Pro/E Prismatics
or Pro/NC
options allows us to create Manufacturing CL files which
are utilized to attach |
|
seamlessly
to
any CNC
Machining
process. |
